GOV Ball
Music Festival

This project reimagines the identity of the Governors Ball Music Festival by reconnecting the festival to its geographic origin on Governors Island. The visual concept translates the island’s curving landscape and pathways into a graphic system that behaves like a musical score, where flowing lines represent movement and circular nodes suggest musical notes traveling through space. The custom script logotype is built from a continuous line inspired by the island’s winding paths, creating a sense of rhythm, motion, and sound. This line-based language extends across icons, posters, environmental graphics, and festival applications, forming a cohesive system that blends New York City’s urban identity with its rare pockets of nature. The result is an identity that frames Gov Ball not just as a music event, but as an immersive spatial experience where music, place, and movement visually intersect.
